I own five beagles, they are the love of my life. They get the best of everything that my meager paycheck can afford.Two of my boys Jesse and Ziggy aka The Dynamic Duo like to run off everynow and then they'll sneak out of the kennel. This usually happens at night while I'm at work, they take advantage of my daughters neglect to shut the gate properly. They usually come back i n15 min or so or the neighbor through the woods calls to say he has them. Last night I was watching The Outsiders One of my all time faves) with my daughter and I heard a noise and jumped off the couch. Daisey , Cooter and Emma howling away because the boys had opened the gate and gone exploring once more. This time it was my fault. I made a couple calls to have people watch out for them and I decided this time, being as they're a year old now I would give them the opportunity to find the'r way home. So I took off my shirt and put it outside along with a couple other things and I waited. 45 Minuits had gone by and no sign or word of them. It's now 8:45 and I'm worried, I can't just sit back and do nothing. I went out driving,walking on the roads in the woods....until 11pm. With a heavy heart I decided to go home and try to calm down and just pray for my baby boys safe return. Needless to say I couldn't relax, sit still and forget about my movie! I ended up passing out who knows when, from exhaustion. At 5:30 this morning my neighbor came to the door with my wounded boys, covered in porkypine quills. Jesse had them all in his neck and face and Ziggy had them all i nhis nose.He instructed me on how to get them out but he was on his way to work and couldn't help....I was alone with my boys and I felt powerless. I called out all favors and everyone is broke. I had to call the vet anyway, I tried and I couldn't do it alone. I had to wait until 8 when they opened but the vet said to bring them right in. So off we went to the vet. Needless to say I had to put $487.06 on my debt card...I just hope it doesn't process for a few days 'cause there is no money. I have to take Jesse back in two weeks to get staples out...that's how bad his was.I tryed to sell my car for $500 at the shop where my boyfriend works, but they wouldn't let me. But they are home,safe, fed and warm and for that I am grateful. I just wanted to share, thanks for listening.
