Guilt. Recently I was thinking about the concept of guilt. Why is it that guilt is so important to us? I mean it must be important because we embrace it so much. Sometimes it’s even the major driving force in our lives. But do we HAVE to feel guilty? Let me start by saying that I firmly believe that there’s absolute right and absolute wrong in this world. And I also believe that since we are human beings, we WILL make mistakes. So there is quite a potential for feeling guilt. And I also believe that we need some guilt in our lives. But just enough to make us realize that we made a mistake and that we are sorry. After that, we should let the it go. But too many people keep the guilt. They keep it way down inside where it becomes part of them. It’s almost like they are hording it. But why? I think a lot of it is that we were raised that way. Why is it that people try to make me feel bad for wanting to only be there friend? Guilt Trips
I was raised in a home where guilt was used as a method of control. Then one day i had an epiphany. Let me explain. Guilt is an emotion. Just like Love is an emotion. Now it is common knowledge that you can't make someone feel love. They either love you or they don't. No more, no less. Now, if Love and Guilt are both emotions, and you can't make somoene feel Love, wouldn't it stand to reason that you can't make someone feel guilt? Yeah I know there are going to be someone of you that say "It isn't that they make you feel it, they convince you of it." But that logic still doesn't hold up. No one can convince me that I love someone. I either do or I don't. So why can't Guilt work the same way? Just because someone says you are guilty, that doesn't mean you actually are. So last night was crazy (what night isn't around here?). There was an 18 year old hanging around....ok, I Lied...she turns 18 next month. But she was trashed, she was hot, and she was HORNY. The other day in face book, my sons future wife posted something that kinda pissed me off but I held my tougue as hard as that was to do. She said its nice to be put on a guilt trip, how refreshing. So I just asked my cousin for the money that she owed me from about a year ago. (70 pounds) Considering I didn't have much money to spend for my birthday on wednesday I kinda had to do it, although she owed it to me I still feel guilty as she can't even pay me back the full amount. sometimes I get guilty feelings. Today I feel guilty about this guy I used to live next door. He was a friendly young man, looked like a messed up rock singer who couldnt make it big. We never really hang out, but we chatted off and on about music we like. One lonley night I went to him, and he took me in. But later when he wanted me, I pushed him away. I remember one time when he called and things he said to me.... "so this is how it is now?" Back then I didnt really care, but later on I feel really bad. I feel bad cuz he gave me what I wanted when I wanted, but I didnt give it to him when he wanted. I liked him. He reminded me of something but I cant figure out what it is. Guilty By Association
Festering pustules of putrid acid fill my bowels and create a unwelcome habitat for peace. I fill dirty and hopeless as eyes surround on all sides. My heart shrinks as I try to hide and crawl back inside. The beast screams in defiance when told to stand down. Fear and loathing start to take over as streams of blood red tears wash my shameful face. I am losing ground in a battle I never wanted and can not withstand again. Numbers painted on the foreheads of the dead haunt me with the wicked memories, screams try to come forth but are quickly muffled by the shouts of my accusers. I fall to my knees waiting for the stones of death to claim my soul. One by one the stones are thrown and none seem to hit their mark. GUILT I have come to believe that guilt is a useless feeling, for a thinking and self-aware adult. It seems to me that Guilt is a button installed by our families and others, in order to regulate our behavior. And while MAYBE it had value to those who cared about me for civilizing me as a child, or keeping me safe, it seems useless to me to carry it around as an adult. Surely whatever payoff I get from feeling guilt, I can obtain in some other way. And aren't the prices I pay for feeling guilty rather high?

This is the only beer I've had that I was forced to drink slowly. It's so much thicker than domestic brews that it was almost like I was drinking a cold, beer flavored hot chocolate. I love it. GUINNESS!!!

Guinea Pigglets!
So. I sucked it up and made my guinea pig phone call. We have ... *drumroll please* ... Two crested females. One male. The two brown ones are the females - exactly like their mother. Well, we did it! 1683 guitar players at the T-Bone baseball stadium in KCK today playing Smoke On The Water. It was a blast! They had some film footage on KMBC channel 9 at 5PM and of course I took a few pics myself..Besides receiving a commemorative t-shirt for the occasion, I am now in the record books for something besides a speeding ticket. :-) Pretty cool, huh?

Im going to buy a Fender Highway One Jazz bass, actually this will be the first "professional" quality bass i have ever owned, not that i think it will make a difference one way or the other, cheap basses can sound pretty good too, its all in how you play not what brand of bass you play. I have owned around 30 electric guitars over the last 25 years, some of them have been really expensive american handmade instruments and some have been cheap korean or swedish guitars made out of plywood and plastic, i currently own a 1966 Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins model that sounds absolutely amazing and a swedish Hagström made of plastic, one of them is worth at least 2000$ and the other perhaps at the most 100$ but both of them are damm good guitars, i have actually used the plastic Hagström a lot more than the Gretsch, i wouldnt trade that sw

I've been playing guitar for 20 years, and have built up quite the collection. I guess I love them all, but my Rogue Bell Brass Resonator ranks right up there, and then there's my 92 custom Gibson LP w/EMG's for when i really feel like tuning low, and my Dean Dime just begs to shred!!! yet at times my Strat just wants to be caressed so it can let out it's blues before gettin funky. And then I grab my 87 Kramer Striker, which cranks out any sound you could possibly want, and yes, it was made in Korea, which in my opinion slaps together some of the best sounding guitars out there. what do you folks think?

You know when you buy that pack of gum, chew a few pieces, and lose the pack? That happened to me last week, but I found it! Yes, indeed. I went to San Diego last week and bought some gum at the airport. You know...pop the ears, fresh breath, etc... Well, once I got there I forgot about it for a few days. Eventually, I remembered, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I finally found it tonight. I found it in my dryer! By some miracle, there was no gum on my clothes. However, there is gum all over the drum of the dryer. I know what I can use to clean it, but it will take hours. It might be easier to buy a new dryer! On a positive note, my underwear smells minty fresh. I'm not kidding...

Gumbo Louisiana Style
2 stewing chickens 3 lb. smoked sausage (seasoned with salt, pepper, accent, garlic powder), sliced in thin pieces 2 lb. crab legs 2 or 3 cans oysters 1 c. diced green pepper 1 c. diced celery 3 tbsp. garlic powder 2 tbsp. black pepper 1 tsp. red pepper 2 tbsp. salt 2 tbsp. basil 2 tbsp. rosemary 2 tbsp. accent ROUX MIX: 2 1/2 c. flour 1 c. cooking oil Heat oil in heavy skillet until very hot. Add flour a little at a time stirring constantly until it forms a paste like consistency. Lower heat and continue to stir until dark brown. Do not burn. Turn heat off and continue to stir until mixture stops bubbling. In large gumbo pot fill to 1/2 full with water. Add seasoned chicken, basil, rosemary, green pepper, onion, sausage, crab legs and roux. Bring to full boil stirring to keep roux from sticking to bottom of pot. Reduce heat and simmer until chicken is tender about 2 1/2 hours. Then add shrimp, simmer about 1/2 hour longer. Add oysters cook 5 minutes more. Serv

Well, I thought tonight would be the same, just as any other nights... Well, at 9 o'clock, I get a phone call from my friend Michelle... On the news this evening was the story of yet another tragic mass murder committed in a school in the US. It is hard for me to understand why Americans are allowed to buy handguns, in Iceland where i live ownership of guns is strictly regulated, handgun ownership is only allowed when the guns are kept at gun clubs, they are never allowed outside the premises of such places. While sitting with my father earlier today at his house the news came on tv. Most of it was bland news crap, as usual, but then appeared a man discussing the possibility of passing a law to allow people with licenses to carry concealed weapons to carry guns into schools, even elementary schools. Odd. All evening I've been hearing, what sounds like, gunshots. I just heard another one a few minutes ago. It's wierd. I've been living here for 12 years and have NEVER heard them before. Earlier everyone was going outside to see what it was, but now that it's almost midnight, people are staying in. Gut Feeling
So, at about 2:30 this morning I am running out of movies to watch...and nothing but informercials litter the channels. My dog was kinda giving me those eyes begging me to go to our bed...but my body wasn't ready to retire. In Touch With True Emotions So often, emotions that we long to express get stored in our bodies instead. The space where this most often happens is in our bellies. Rather than telling people, our even ourselves, the way we truly feel, we may stuff our true feelings deep inside of us, where they take up space until we are ready to let them go.
