I had been living in the hills surrounding Adelaide for about five years when I met Molly. She lived in the United States and had come to Adelaide for a holiday… and we went for a sight seeing tour to explore the countryside and I was pleased to meet someone with whom to share my special places. My beautiful Mum joined the angels in heaven on Valentine's Day 2013. My sister Neeky had called me to let me know Mum was having a wound cleaned and dressed and it required surgery. I tried not to panic as it was just small surgery and she would be coming home within a day or two. My world fell apart with the next phone call, Neeky was telling me something had happened during the operation and Mum was to have emergency surgery on a tear in her bowel. This was unbelievable, how could something so minor go so terribly wrong. The next 6 hours was a blur to me, I jumped in my car and drove to be with Mum and my sisters. For 4 days we sat beside Mum, telling her how much we loved her, talked to her, laughed with her and cried so many tears. The doctors told us her condition was grim and she might not make, it was a roller coaster ride of emotions for all of us but we refused to give up hope. The Roof
The roof was okay today. Cloudy and with a breeze, I was able to replace the rotten wood around the chiney. Then I put down a few square of shingles and then tear off a ffew square. Remember, this roof has 4 layers of old shingles. Going back to the 1930's or 1940's. They don't come up easy. The roof was hot today. I was on it before 5:30AM and in a full sweat by 6am. Well folks here's the deal. Sorry I've been away but I've been in a bit of a funk lately and I haven't been able to drag my sorry ass to Cherry Tap for a while.
