Resolutions
In the past, I've had no luck with general new year's resolution such as "exercise more." Usually I don't even bother with them at all. I want to try something a little different this time. Restoring A 1956 Corvette Race Car
Today I got a lot more accomplished with project `56. I removed the remaining pieces and parts from the old frame. The front suspension, even the damaged side was taken off. Having never experienced this style suspension set up, I thought it would be a good idea to disassemble the damaged side first, just for a trial run. I even read through the service manual first to get an idea with what I`m working with. It`s a complicated system, but broken down, I could see where we could run into trouble if not careful. I searched the frame for all remaining clips and retainers. Good idea to save all those pieces saved, even if you plan on replacing them. With a little help, we got the frame out of the shop for the first time in years! Woohoo! Organization is key, so I cleaned up a bit, and got ready to start fresh tomorrow. OK, it was official at 3:40 pm Friday my Grandpa passed from this world. Last week i was so angry when i heard he was brain dead it overrode my grief a lot an dkept me going. On August 20,2008 a very dear friend of mine was killed in a work accident while working at AMTRAK. Steve or better known to us as "Spkie" was only 22. He was hit by a train while working on the track and dies 2 hours later at the hospital. I can not believe he is gone. As a cashier if I recieve a credit or debit card that is unsigned I'm required to ask for Photo ID. What's disturbing is the number of customers that tell me I'm the first one to ever ask them even the one's that have "See ID" written on them. People tell me all the time that they never sign their cards, if your gonna be that stupid write "See ID " on the card in permanent marker! At least that way no one else will be able to sign it. Today I discovered that I have the retard gene. I changed out of my work uniform and put some khaki shorts and I daytona bike week shirt on. I grabbed my phone my Ipod and my wallet. So I have never been da type of person who likes hospitals, at all. They are a place full of death, disease, and germs. But I recently had 2 make a trip there, for 5 hrs. I was pretty worried bout what was wrong wit me, and I really started thinking bout what all I have drug my body through, n was thinking how much all dat could have taken off my life span. Well, I came 2 a decision and decided 2 slow down 4 a lil bit, not stopping cause I couldnt fully live wit out gettin 2 party, but I will slow down. About 2 years ago my wife and I were on a cruise through the western Mediterranean aboard a Princess liner. At dinner we noticed an elderly lady sitting alone along the rail of the grand stairway in the main dining room. Graduation is tomorrow (June 23) and it marks a graduation of sorts for me too. After a 30+ year teaching career (yeah, I'm one of those weirdos who graduated from both high school and college early), I have to call it quits; long story, but it has to do with contract language. So now, what to do. I already have 4 offers to conduct different musical ensembles. I need some time to "recharge my batteries", so to speak, so I will take some time to decide which one to accept. However, I will NOT just be sitting around all day...lol! I still have fun coaching one of my son's baseball teams and watch him play on 2 others. We are into all-star season for the team I coach and our first game is Sunday. As far as the "Fu" is concerned, as soon as I get some time, I am gonna celebrate my retirement here by running an auto and blowing up a TON of chit...lol. The question is, when will time permit? When discussing various things with my Ex about Steven a funny story turned up, that I just wanted to share. Steven was born in Germany, whilst I was in the Army. Returning Home From Ike
Thanks to all of you who have sent well wishes and phone calls to see if I and my family are ok. We did survive the storm.. and came back on Sunday to see mass destruction everywhere. I will be posting photos soon in my photo gallery. Mass destruction is everywhere in my area. Whole neighborhoods are destroyed. 40 Persons known dead at the moment with more search and discovery on going. The area in which I live has suffered total losses of homes, and all belongings. FEMA is starting to come in to help to give us ice, and non perishable foods, as most of us have lost all foods that were in fridges and freezers. Needless to say that the losses of material possessions is devastating, however, I am thankful to God for keeping so many of us safe. I will post more information when I am able, my time is short at the moment as I am working on food, and water and ice for us. I hope that I will be online some more this evening. Reunited With My Kids After 5 Yrs
I finally after 5yrs I was reunited with my children. At first I was really upset and ready to cry because it was hard for me to see them after so long. The first couple seconds were rough but I pulled myself together to be strong for the kids...they looked so great and they were just smiling and excited as I was, especially my daughter Bryana. I didnt want the moments with them to end so i talked to them as much as possible. I only got about a half hour with them but i was so relieved to have that! I felt like i was on cloud 29..so excited that i couldnt even sleep later that night...i was wondering for the last 5yrs how they sounded and how they were and now I know how they are...The best feeling in the world is feeling your kids put their arms around you and be glad that you are there! I just have to thank god so much for the second chance with my kids! And of course their Father who made it possible....It was the best!

i have recently been free of child support for the first time in over 20 years. i have no problem supporting my children. however, i am against supporting my ex-wifes drinking habit. my son never had clothes for school or shoes for his feet but she would take my 135.00 support check to the bar and cash it. she would remain there till the bar closed. comeing home with no money from that child support check. my son was always hungry when he came to visit. my idea to end abuse of child support is to issue a card only good for food or clothes. that way the money is going where it should be. to the child. there is way too much power and corruption in the child support racket. i say a nation wide revamping is seriously needed. remember. absolute power is absolute corruption absolutely. courts should only get involved in extreme cases. suchas, dead-beat parents. otherwise let the voters decide on a fair and just way of getting child support to the child not the parent.

Jensen Ames was set up, and sent to prison. It's the future, and prison's are now run by the corporations. Mans thirst for more has turned the PPV cage fights into Death Race, where prisoners race each other in souped up, iron plated, heavy weaponed cars. In the last race, Machine Gun Joe, played by Tyrese, took out Frankenstein. So Hennessey, played by Joan Allen, "arranges" for Jensen Ames, played by Jason Hottness...I mean Statham. He was a driver on the outside, and a good one. And she needed someone to wear the Frankenstein mask, with the same skill set. And it goes from there. Ames is blackmailed into driving, and the games begin. The script was somewhat predictable. Loosely based on the 1975 film Death Race 2000...and I do mean loosely, it gave a few new twists, but nothing spectacular. But this movie was about the action, not the plot. The same basic themes run through both, don't trust big government/corporation. Jason Statham was...well...Jason Statham.

Wow. How can I possibly describe this book? Mediocre? Unfocused? Half-assed? I am a big fan of Palahniuk. I love Fight CLub, Invisible Monsters, Survivor, Choke, Diary, and Lullaby. I even like Haunted a bit. I think he is great at picking some aspect of American Culture and flipping it over so it's soft white underbelly is clearly visible. Unfortunately, with Haunted he appears to have developed a taste for the 'big gross-out.' Rant continues that trend. And what is worse is that the book is written in an oral history fashion that at it's best is merely distracting. At it's worst, it's damn confusing. I am still not exactly sure what the message of this book was supposed to be. It starts by spouting all the redneck/trailer trash stereotypes that the media is currently so fond of. It's rare that I come across a movie so good, that I want to immediately go back to chapter one, and watch it all over again. I haven't a single complaint. Which for me, is very rare. I'm not even a Bale fan, and I loved it. Caine gave one of the best performances of his life, truly. The Emerald Bar in downtown St. Pete is an Irish pub that regularly features live music. The bar is cash only (there is an ATM in the back), and the prices are extremely reasonable for the area, including domestic bottles for $2.75/each. It’s a dark, smoky bar with a lot of character and good service with a friendly sneer. Upon entering, the bar is on the right, about 30’ long with a few tables & chairs on the left. The ambiance has a rustic feel, and any barfly would feel comfortable bellying up to throw a few pints back. Actually, there was an old barfly there with a penchant for talking to himself, who seemed so comfortable at one point that I couldn’t tell if he was sleeping or not through the roar of the Punk bands. I don't normally feel compelled to blog about the movies I watch, but this one is different. I love scary movies, but alas I hardly ever see a good one anymore - one that is actually SCARY. Paranormal Activity is an exception.
