I have lost 140 lbs and my doctors are having a hard time getting surgery for me because the medical system thinks that it is considered cosmetic surgery to get the extra skin removed from me though over 10 000 such surgeries are preformed each year across Canada.
The catch is.. I didn't have the by pass (stomach staple) surgery. I lost the weight naturally... so I don't qualify. My doctors are trying to find a way around this.
When A Person Loses 100+ pounds without having a By-Pass surgery, should having surgery to remove the extra skin be considered cosmetic or health related since the same health risks apply?
So...
A> should I take this to the media? or
B) be patient and let the doctors keep trying longer? |
