Ok, so this vacation thing isn't starting off that great! I was so excited and thought everything as going so smoothly, but something HAD to go wrong. About an hour from Nashville we encountered vehicle trouble. Turns out the catalytic converter went out in our van. So we had my mother come pick us up and she drove us to Nashville. Then she went all the way back home. The van was towed to a shop in Pulaski, TN. We hope it will be fixed by Monday. That will be about an extra $300 we didn't plan to spend! We plan to take a shuttle to the airport in the morning, will be renting a car in Chicago, so no worries there. Getting BACK t Pulaski to get or van will be the hard part. I really don't expect to have the funds to rent another car. So we are going to have to figure something out. I know it will be fine, I hate to ruin the rest o the trip by worrying about it, so I'm really going to try not to. Just wanted to check in here. This keyboard on this hotel PC is pissing me off, I've taken 15 minutes to type this. LMAO! See ya in a few days!
OMG! It's finally here .. my long awaited, much deserved vacation! Heading out tomorrow immediately after I get off work at 11:30am! Dropping the kids off at my moms in Huntsville and then driving to Nashville to stay the night and get on a plane for the FIRST time friday morning. The husband and I are taking a short trip to Chicago! He's from that area and it was a cheap getaway. The best part about the entire trip is that on saturday I'm meeting a long-time friend from Fu! She's a special, awesome friend! Most of you know her. There is another bouncer friend I also hope to meet if time permits and our schedules fit. I will post lots of pics when I get back. I shall return on Monday, but I probably won't have time to be back online until Tuesday, maybe. Miss me, love me and all that blabbity blah! I'm SO happy!
By the way, I had to dote on my hubby, he has planned all of this FOR me. His anniversary gift to me. Which happens to be today. We've been married 4 years. He left me a card on the kitchen counter and I found it when I got up for work this morning. He NEVER does stuff like that so I was totally shocked. Things with us have been going pretty well and I'm really hoping this trip will help me find out where this marriage is going. We don't get out without our children. We have lost what it's like to be a couple, so this is our time, just for a few days. Anyways, take care! Be nice to each other and I will see you all the first of next week!
We moved back into our apartment today, it was only 10 days in a hotel, but it felt like an eternity. I have done nothing but clean since I got off work and I'm dead tired. The cleaning crew did the shittiest job I've ever seen in my life. The kitchen floor didn't come clean and it will have to be replaced completely. My boys can wipe counters and walls better than they did. The jerks didn't even MOVE my furniture, they just cleaned the carpet around it all. I was SO pissed. You could see where every piece of furniture in my apartment was when you move it. So, I spoke up and they are coming back tomorrow to clean again ... better do it right. There isn't much to do excpet the floors, I took care of the walls myself, I can do a better job anyways. SO, I'm home, kinda, sorta...doesn't feel like home :(
