So I pick up my distributors from their hotel and drag their ass to the Anaheim Convention Center. The 1st 10 minutes is spent finding our bearings and getting in the door.
Once inside we head straight to the Sampson Booth, they're sales reps as well. On the way we run into one of the Greatest Bassists of all time, Tony Levine at the Ernie Ball Booth. Naturally we stop, say hi, get pics, move on. We get to Sampson, do the nickel tour, I get introduced to people, etc. As we walk down the stairs to head out of the booth we run into Stu Hamm walking up. HOLY SHIT!!! Two bass legends in 20 minutes, amazing, I'm floored. Again, pics, signatures, move on. Blah, Blah, Blah
The next few hours is spent switching out my badge for the borrowed one, a few smokes, meeting my distributors face to face, lots of killer guitars and just talking mad shit to guys who are there for the same reason we are, the love of musical instruments.
In our journey we had to split for some reason so i went over to talk to yet another distributor and run into one of my models. We split their booth and go smoke and she hits me up to license her for some guitars, FUCK YEAH!!!!
Right before lunch, we go walking out to smoke, yet again, and we run into my buddy Bingo. Without a blink I split from my distributors and head around Namm with him for a bit. Now check it, its one thing to be at a huge musical instrument convention with dealers, makers, reps, but its fucking the shit hanging with a bro checking shit out from a non-lets make some cash off this state of mind.
Bingo introduces me around to his sponsors/ endorsees (he's a tech for 3 major acts) for a bit then I realize I was late for a meeting so i split form him.
At the meeting the guy I had to meet to have him become my mentor totally doesnt get the purpose and offered me a gig doing his overflow custom shop work. I accept and then we discuss the business at hand. Long story short I have 135 booths to hit, 1 interview, and 3 meetings in the next 3 days.
