Fenrir

The son of the god of mischief and his giantess bride. Fenrir the wolf is a monstrous creature whose hunger is never ending and grows continuously without end. It is his destiny to one day grow so large that he consumes the sun and moon. At this moment the Twilight of the Gods will have arrived and Ragnarok, the final battle, will begin. Fenrir is one of Loki's three children who collectively represent the flaws in all of mankind. His particular exemplified flaws are those of greed, gluttony, and spite. His gluttony causes him to grow ever larger and more destructive to those around him. The gods insist upon binding him in order to try to prevent him causing harm. It is the same in us all. If we do not practice restraint we may feel good about the immediate results but we are only feeding the desire for more. There is no satiation to be found in that realm and we might only harm ourselves and those around us. His greed causes him to be an abrasion to everyone he comes into contact with. He is so engulfed in his desire for things that he does not consider the implications to those around him and eventually himself. His desire becomes so great that he seeks to devour the sun and moon themselves. Thereby, taking the light from the heavens and casting the universe into darkness. Finally, his spite. Fenrir is a being of anger. His emotions take the better of him. His greed and gluttony. Covetousness for that which he does not have. These things all take control of him and guide his way. He has no ability to overcome his spite because he has let it become all that he is. He despises the gods for their happiness and prowess. He roars and struggles against the unbreakable chains that he allowed them to bind him with. He swears if he is ever set free he will devour them and everything else that he can get to. It is this spite that is his undoing and the undoing of the gods themselves. Fenrir, the giant wolf. A beast of rage, ravenous hunger, and pain. His heart knows nothing but anger. His life is one of pain. No matter how much he consumes it never quenches the fire. Because he chooses the wrong food. He chooses to fill his void with more things that burn because he knows the fire and the comfort of its warmth. The roar of its flames is the song that he dances to. If he were only capable of seeing the other choices. To feed on health and happiness instead of pain. He does not know how though. Yet, he refuses to learn. The path is shown him and he chooses the hunger anyway.... Fenrir the wolf...
