As the title suggests, this post is about charities.
I'm always looking for ways to increase donations to events so if anyone who reads this has an idea please let me know. I'm open to almost anything to help fund the different causes.
My first charity cycling event is in June. It is for a local girl who is now paralyzed from a disease called Transverse Mylitis. When she was first diagnosed she was only the 10th case in 10 years in the Pittsburgh region. All the money donated will go to her for her medical expences and the Transvers Meylitis Association for research. I will be riding 75 miles for this event. My second charity event is for the Wounded Warrior Project and it will be in July. It is a much more family friendly ride of only 12 miles. Everything will go to help our heros when they come home. I have currently raised $65 out of my goal of $1000.
My 3rd event is for the American Cancer Society. It will benifit those here in PA who are fighting cancer as well as research to help better treate the disease, maybe even find a real cure. This ride has 3 different distances for just about anyone who wants to ride. We are riding 36 miles as a team in August. There are also distances of 12 and 62 miles for anyone interested. I have raised $65 out of my goal of $1500.
My final scheduled event this summer is in September. I will be riding in the 2014 Ride to Conquer Cancer. This event will benifit the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. This ride will be a minimum of 150 miles over 2 days. I have started a team if you are interested in joining.
