How pompous and arrogant to think myself beautiful

Now sitting on the sidelines I see beauty in its fullest

Beautiful body

Trance-like movements

graceful and

endearing

Pulling the eye

Searching the soul

Invading the heart

The pure essence of all that is creative

I watch from my lonely perch and hope for the opportunity

To compete

  To strive

      for such beauty excellence and grace.

The trees

            swimming around each other

The river

            rushing towards the sky

Even the mountains

            melting together

all these unnatural sights

as if the spinning in my brain is affecting the way I see the world

you're running around in my mind

like a marathon champion

with no way to stop

How

  Why

    When

      Where

How did you get so deep inside

  Why can't this be easier

    When will I see you again

      Where will that magic moment be

I want so badly to wrap you in my arms

right here

right now

I want to feel you next to me

The sun on our faces

     the grass on our backs

the sand between our toes

     the trees rising around us

The sky within easy reach

     the sea miles below

The sheets tangled around our bodies

     Your voice in my ear

and your eyes

     piercing my soul with every breath

You don't even know what you're doing to me

and I couldn't tell you how

what's done is done

and here I am in my life

waiting

  wanting

    hoping

more than anything 

to see you

   talk to you

      hold you again

My beautiful soul

remember these words as I will

The contrasts of the peaceful

Moonlit night

And the pounding bass

Of the impromptu disco

The convergence

Issues a moaning wail

As the soul of a person

Flies

And

Dies

All in one breath

The bell tower

Nothing more than metal on a string

Sways in the ever blowing winds

Of a life always on the move

Railings

   Bars

All to keep the most important at bay

To keep reality from seeping in

And it does

Reality has a way of being ever elusive

Suddenly fleeing

When you think you have found it

I don’t understand a thing

Daydreams in cloudy skies

Waves of blue

Just sailing by

Flickering light

Of burning ash

From myself

I want to dash

Days of sun

Island dreams

Reality

Doesn’t mean a thing
