   I Look Down On Young Women With Husbands And Kids And I’m Not Sorry

Every time I hear someone say that feminism is about validating every choice a woman makes I have to fight back vomit.

Do people really think that a stay at home mom is really on equal footing with a woman who works and takes care of herself? There’s no way those two things are the same. It’s hard for me to believe it’s not just verbally placating these people so they don’t get in trouble with the mommy bloggers.

Having kids and getting married are considered life milestones. We have baby showers and wedding parties as if it’s a huge accomplishment and cause for celebration to be able to get knocked up or find someone to walk down the aisle with. These aren’t accomplishments, they are actually super easy tasks, literally anyone can do them. They are the most common thing, ever, in the history of the world. They are, by definition, average. And here’s the thing, why on earth are we settling for average?

If women can do anything, why are we still content with applauding them for doing nothing?

I want to have a shower for a woman when she backpacks on her own through Asia, gets a promotion, or lands a dream job not when she stays inside the box and does the house and kids thing which is the path of least resistance. The dominate cultural voice will tell you these are things you can do with a husband and kids, but as I’ve written before, that’s a lie. It’s just not reality.

You will never have the time, energy, freedom or mobility to be exceptional if you have a husband and kids.

I hear women talk about how “hard” it is to raise kids and manage a household all the time. I never hear men talk about this. It’s because women secretly like to talk about how hard managing a household is so they don’t have to explain their lack of real accomplishments. Men don’t care to “manage a household.” They aren’t conditioned to think stupid things like that are “important.”

Women will be equal with men when we stop demanding that it be considered equally important to do housework and real work. They are not equal. Doing laundry will never be as important as being a doctor or an engineer or building a business. This word play is holding us back.

A local news station had this blog posted on Facebook and I had to to share it.  The writer, Amy Glass, and I have the same thoughts on this topic.  My favorite part is the end, women need to stop complaining about house work because doing house work will never be as important as the jobs Ms Glass list, or even mine.  I work in an open computer lab where students come in to do their homework, I teach some of them how to use the different programs, some just how to print, other's I only have to show them how to hook their device up to the Wi-Fi.  Teaching a person, of any age, how to do something is much more important than sorting and putting clothes in a washer and/or dryer.

Never keep a guy on the back burner, because even though you tell him everything that is going on in your life, he won't tell you half of the crap going on in his life.

On the flip side of it all, the guy on the front burner has never once lied to you, or not told you anything when asked. I have NO idea how the guy on the front burner puts up with me, makes me love him more.

This life would kill me, if I didn't have you.

Over the years I have heard all the names and been left out of all sorts of things due to the size of my clothes, but lately I have really been thinking about a term use on the internet that I believe is overly used. BBW, big beautiful woman.

There are many different people in this world of all different shapes, sizes, and colors, and just because you are of one of them does not mean you are more beautiful then the person you stand next to. So why is it that because you are a big, plus size, woman you are automatically beautiful? This I do not understand, but I am sure someone out there in the world is someone who does understand it, because the term has came to be and very popular at that.

I, personally really dis like the term. I don't think people should drawl attention to themselves by putting labels on themselves and/or others. Yes I am a bigger woman, yes I shop at plus size stores, but I don't want to be called BBW. If a man (or woman) tells me at the get go that they like my, 'big sexy ass,' I am going to delete the message and not look back. Tell me I'm hot, I'm sexy, I'm beautiful, but don't bring my size into, that just counteract the complement you were trying to make in the first place.

So I am going to urge the fine people of this site to stop using the term BBW, big beautiful woman, because it counteract the complement you are trying to pay to the woman.
