A few weeks ago I decided that I was finally decided to get a Wii Fit. I know, I know....I'm a little slow at these things. But the thing is, I got it. I have a few friends that have it and I've heard them talk about it and how it was harder than they thought. I had no idea how right they were.
I always knew that my balance was off. I just didn't know it was THAT off balance. My center is way off and I have come to the conclusion that my balance sucks! Good thing that section of the games are my favorite and I'll be able to work on that.
The arobics section is fun. I think my favorite exercise is the hula hoop. What's weird about that is that I can NOT hula hoop in real life, but I can kick ass at it on that thing. Tonight I got over 200 spins in a minute =] Believe it or not, the running is actually difficult. I mean the whole running thing isn't hard, but you can't pass the person leading you and they keep slowing down and speeding up. Ugh, it's more annoying than hard....but it wears you out.
I haven't done much of the strength exercise. The few I have done are pretty hard. Of course I have ZERO upper body strength and that's probably the main problem. So I'll be working on that some more too.
Lastly is yoga. I always thought it looked stupid and didn't see the point in it, but OMG....I didn't know it was that hard. Trying to keep your "center of balance" while doing those poses in a smooth process AND paying attention to breathing. Damn. But I did get a 96% on some new pose tonight, lol. I actually like it.
All in all it actually does something. I worked out on it for about an hour tonight and was sweating by the time I was finished. The last time I used it was three days ago and it said I lost two pounds. I know it's not much, but it's SOMETHING. I'm also cutting back on what I eat and I have pretty much cut out all soda. I "do good" if I even drink one glass a day now. Put it to you this way, I bought a 12oz bottle on the first and I had to throw over half of it away today because I've just been taking sips of it and it's flat now. It's just too much sugar and if I'm going to lose weight, I don't need it.
I'd rather go about this process slow and healthy than fast with a crash, just to gain it all back. I need to take better care of myself and I'll do whatever I can to do it.
Next step......quit smoking.
