ENTERTAINING THE GODS
For the purpose or lack of, I will refer to the main players in this story as "Gods". You may call them anything you wish.
The Bible, was more of a rough draft, written in many versions, thus the reason we don't all worship the same God, or theory about how the world began.
So the story line begins as the main Gods gathered together and wrote the play. First it was all agreed the stage would be round, some dirt, water and air. This part was given to one of the Gods, and he was told to take these elements and do something exciting, make the stage perform miracles and however you can.
Next catagory was living things, and it was decided this was to be the main attraction and needed to be the focus of the plot. So a group of Gods got this assignment, and told to just let their imagination run wild. Anything goes, the more exciting, and thrilling the better. Different Gods were assigned to this group to define character species, etc.
At first the play went well. Interesting and enjoyed by all Gods. The continents, oceans, mountains, weather were all in place. The living spiecies were simple and adapted well to the new planet created for them.
Soon the story line became boring to the Gods, just like watching the same television channel all the time. It was then our creators got creative. Some of them had a sense of humor , and some didn't. Some were romantic and sensitive, while others were hateful and ruthless. Each one had to write the next act, making it more interesting and dynamic than the last. This had to entertain every personality of the Gods.
This kind of relates to our entertainment as we know it. Black and white television once was the ultimate, but look at us now. Playing with a ball and a stick were all your kids needed. Wouldn't work today!
So as time passes and the Gods get bored with what we are doing, they write another chapter to their play. And our parts get more intense with each rewrite or sequal. Remember, the gods in charge of tragedy, sickness, pain and suffering are all still having to apease the Gods with their segments. The writers and directors for the desctruction are certainly putting forth every effort to win the Award for their part. And it looks like they stand a pretty good chance of being nominated.
So as theGods become bored with our performances, they will create more complications and issues for the plot to continue. At some point in time, we all know they will run out of ideas and topics for us to perform. Thus having to end the story, hopefully with some kind of a punch line. Personally, I don't think I want to live anywhere near the end of this finale, it could get ugly.
Beware, if the world peace thing ever starts looking like it's working, it would be then, that the Gods are going back to the drawing table, and figuring out the end of the story. And remember your part you play here and now, is going to be your resume for the next sensationl world. Screw things up now, and get a loousy roll next time over.
