I have 3 little girls and me and my husband are discussing Fairy tales. Here is a sum up of our discussion. I read them the book, Fairy tales by Hans Andersen, my daddy read me when as a child and the book his mom read to him. My husband doesn't want me to read it to them anymore cause they are getting older (4,2,10months)and starting to understand it more. I understand that the stories are a bit darker but I enjoy them so do they and its tradition. He prefers I read them Disney versions, which I dislike because they are in my opinion bland and white washed.
Do I
A. Keep with tradition and read the same book my Nana read my Daddy and Daddy read to me
B. Suck it up and read Disney versions
C. Edit the original to my liking but keep it true as possible
D. Have him read the Disney and I read the Andersen |
