Since We've Been in Iraq

Did you know? I didn't know! How could we? Its called a purpose! A purpose of helping a country be able to stand on its own two feet. You think that we are there to capture Bin Laden, and since we havent, its been a waste! Well, before you cast your vote as a republican hater....read this and then tell me if we have made headway! Did you know that 47 countries' have reestablished their embassies in Iraq? Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi people? Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under rehabilitation, 263 new schools are now under construction and 38 new schools have been completed in Iraq? Did you know that Iraq's higher educational structure consists of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all currently operating? Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in January 2005 for the re-established Fulbright program? Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational? They have 5 - 100-foot patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment. Did you know that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft (under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers? Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando Battalion? Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained and equipped police officers? Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over 3500 new officers each 8 weeks? Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq? They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities. Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations? Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by mid October? Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and phone use has gone up 158%? Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations? Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004? Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a televised debate recently? OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW! WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW? OUR MEDIA WOULDN'T TELL US! Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades. Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive in Iraq serves two purposes: It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States thus minimizing consequent support, and it is intended to discourage American citizens. ---- Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site.

Ode to A Fallen Hero

Ode to A Fallen Hero BY: Ronald F. Brown 11/4/2006 I heard another few have fallen. Numbers on the news to the masses, but fathers, brothers and sons to some. Tears flow of each one that has died in their mission abroad serving our country. Children who will never again have their daddy to give them love, praise and a warm embrace. Wives who now must only know the love of before they have been deployed. Friends who now must only recall while together the joy of knowing such an amazing man. Oh that a magic spell could cast peace for all the world. But it can not be so. So men and women with skills so masterful are sent to regions they before have not known. Where foes seek to destroy the freedom we are bringing to their lands. You fallen heroes are not forgotten. Others may shout for peace and fail to know that the lives that have bleed on foreign soil are so precious and so brave. Dear soldier who has fallen, know ye this; we honor all that is you. Your valor in battle, your mission sure and dedication to a cause of freedom. When flags unfurl across the final resting place for thee. Tears flowing in the air as taps echoes across for those who loved thee to hear. Twenty-one gun salute dispersed from riffles seven. The wallowing up flowing emotions release for family and friends grieve thy passing. As attendants raise old glory and begin the folding her with pride. The officer with such a caring manner brings stripes and stars to the loved ones hands. The haunting echo of his words to one fall short of all that we in this country feel. Know that your life shorted by war. Taken way to early is not in vain. For you were loved by many who may never know your name. Those who knew thee shed tears a plenty at thy loss. Legions of angels are with thee dear soldier to bring you to the heavens above for rest in the arms of God. On behalf of the nation we miss you and salute all that you were. All that you stood for on the battlefield. All that you were to loved ones that were lucky to know a soul like you. Though a marker will be chiseled for thee to mark your resting place, it is our hearts that you leave your mark on most. You dear soldier, noble in your commitment, strong with pride; we miss thee and honor you this day.

KEEP IT LIT

For all of our other military personnel, where ever they may be. Please keep this message going to support all of the troops defending our Country. PLEASE KEEP IT GOING TO YOUR FRIENDS "This is the day that the Lord hath made, rejoice in it" KEEP IT LIT! And God Bless and Light A candle for our Military who are protecting our Country for our freedom. I watched the flag pass by one day, It fluttered in the breeze. A young Marine saluted it, And then he stood at ease.. I looked at him in uniform So young, so tall, so proud, With hair cut square and eyes alert He'd stand out in any crowd. I thought how many men like him Had fallen through the years. How many died on foreign soil How many mothers' tears? How many pilots' planes shot down? How many died at sea How many foxholes were soldiers' graves? No, freedom isn't free. I heard the sound of Taps one night, When everything was still, I listened to the bugler play And felt a sudden chill. I wondered just how many times That Taps had meant "Amen," When a flag had draped a coffin. Of a brother or a friend. I thought of all the children, Of the mothers and the wives, Of fathers, sons and husbands With interrupted lives. I thought about a graveyard At the bottom of the sea Of unmarked graves in Arlington . No, freedom isn't free. If you don't support your troops well, then don't repost, it's not like you know the men and women that are dying to preserve your right...

FOR THE WITCHES.......

Bide the Wiccan Laws we must In Perfect Love and Perfect Trust. Live and let live. Fairly take and fairly give. Cast the Circle thrice about To keep the evil spirits out. To bind the spell every time Let the spell be spake in rhyme. Soft of eye and light of touch, Speak little, listen much. Deosil go by the waxing moon, Chanting out the Witches' Rune. Widdershins go by the waning moon, Chanting out the baneful rune. When the Lady's moon is new, Kiss the hand to her, times two. When the moon rides at her peak, Then your heart's desire seek, Heed the North wind's mighty gale, Lock the door and drop the sail. When the wind comes from the South, Love will kiss thee on the mouth. When the wind blows from the West, Departed souls will have no rest. When the wind blows from the East, Expect the new and set the feast. Nine woods in the cauldron go, Burn them fast and burn them slow. Elder be the Lady's tree, Burn it not or cursed you'll be. When the Wheel begins to turn, Let the Beltane fires burn. When the Wheel has turned to Yule, Light the log and the Horned One rules. Heed ye Flower, Bush and Tree, By the Lady, blessed be. Where the rippling waters go, Cast a stone and truth you'll know. When ye have a true need, Hearken not to others' greed. With a fool no season spend, Lest ye be counted as his friend. Merry meet and merry part, Bright the cheeks and warm the heart. Mind the Threefold Law you should, Three times bad and three times good. When misfortune is enow, Wear the blue star on thy brow. True in Love ever be, Lest thy lover's false to thee. Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill: An ye harm none, do what ye will.
