These are the days that get me threw the shitty ones...
It was Sunday and we woke up to a cloudy day.... there was tension in the air when we packed up our bags, even Nakita could sense that today was a big day....
We and when i say we i mean my son.. were about to play the number one team in our city...
They have never been defeated..
We got to the field early because Jeff is really freaking anal... (another story) we set up my chair and let Nakita run after a few shit hawks...
The other team members started showing up.. the moms gathered there was electricity in the air.. today we either defeated the champs or we went home crying...
The other team showed up, their children were tall and big..
The game started and there was tension, back and forth between both sides ... suddenly one of our players get a break away hes running towards the net... he shoots he scores.. all the mothers jump up and start screaming... i still sit in my seat grabbing onto the armrests easing my tension....
The biggest player starts towards my son.... he defends it takes the ball from him and gets it out. (possibly because i told him never to let anyone score) more and more the other team work their way into our side of the field.. more and more my son defends his spot..
I am on the edge of my seat a ball goes towards the net.. i scream to my son "use your body" he deflects the call with his body and they dont score... the other mothers look at me funny
This continues on for 20 minutes more and more kids circling my son... he continues to use his body (later i find cleat marks) until a pack of five decide to take him down... cleats to the head my son lays there motionless... all the people go quiet...
They look at me looking at him
I scream "rub some dirt in it" he laughs gets up and plays on...
My son is my hero... I should take a lesson from him and rub some dirt in it
