Google launched the latest version of its Internet Explorer Toolbar plug-in today. Available as a beta download, Google Toolbar 5 introduces a handful of improvements over its predecessors.
The latest version of the plug-in features a new-found integration with Google Gadgets, letting users access and distribute Gadgets such as Google Product Search from their browsers. The new AutoFill feature makes it possible to save address and contact information to the Toolbar with improved accuracy and multi-address options, allowing users to differentiate home and work addresses, for example.
Users can also access their customized toolbars from multiple computers, making it possible to view content such as bookmarks and customized button configurations from any PC with the toolbar installed. And Google Notebook has been added to Toolbar, so users can collect and share info pulled from the Web in text and image form. Toolbar 5 also circumvents the standard 404 and DNS page errors, offering up top recommended pages.
The plug-in is now available for download from Google. Expect a full hands-on review of the app soon on PCMag.com.
