fubar counters Facebook F8 with FU

Menlo Park – fubar.com, May 31, 2007 – 5 days after the earth-shattering release of Facebook's F8 Platform, fubar engineers worked for 10 minutes to create platform FU (codename: VAULT). fubar engineers scrambled to their bombshelters to counter Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's self-proclaimed "most powerful distribution mechanism that's been created in a generation."

FU calls on all websites to pay homage to the great “babyjesus” via deep integration into fubar. “Until now, there was no clear way to worship me. Today, we’re going to change that,” Hedlund told an audience of more than 3 people. “With this evolution of the FU Platform, any website worldwide will have the privilege, not the right, to associate itself with fubar.”

The announcement opened the FU event, a smack-a-thon involving more than 3 website developers using sophisticated applications such as MS Paint, to develop cutting-edge “visual graphs” (Hedlund insists on not using words like “banner”) that will carefully yet deeply be integrated into fubar.

Deep integration into fubar

Ryan "scrapper" Riccitelli, executive VP of Integration at fubar, detailed how any website can deeply integrate their “visual graphs” into the site’s information flow and connections of relationships: “Using something called hyper-text-markup-language, a highly-trained engineer will take the ‘visual graph’ and integrate it using granular optimization techniques,” says Riccitelli. “Most of the time, the websites aren’t established enough to take advantage of the optimization, in which case they’re listed in another table row, again using hyper-text-mark-up-language, at the end of the list.”

Mass distribution through the Bar Graph

Websites will gain distribution through what Hedlund called the “bar graph,” the network of real connections through which people interact and share information.

“The bar graph is our base, and we’ve built a framework that is completely optimized for visual graph applications using hyper-text-mark-up language within our environment,” said Hedlund.

“Essential for the maximized effect of the FU Platform is the mouse-click. Once a mouse-click event is triggered, something called the hyper-text-transfer-protocol will then guide the user to the actual website, thus completing the distribution cycle of the FU Platform,” said Riccitelli.

“Said differently, when the visual graphs intersect with our bar graph, we have something we like to call 'cross-graphication' occurring...this is THE quintessential FU experience,” added Hedlund:

Hedlund closed the FU Event with a strong mission statement regarding the FU Platform: “We believe that there is more value for everyone if we optimize the synergies with websites and allow them to penetrate our bar graph. Maximum penetration is a win-win for everyone.”

About fubar

Co-founded in February of 2007 by Mike Hedlund and Ryan Riccitelli, fubar helps people better understand the Internet around them by building webpages in conjunction with a staff of 30+ year-old employees. The site has over 1.2 million users, and according to Quantcast, ranks as the three-thousand-one-hundred-fifty-fifth-most trafficked site in the world. fubar is privately held and headquartered in Menlo Park, California.
