| My mother has 14-foot wooden front porch columns on her house. Some of them are starting to rot at the bases. Part of this problem is due to rain runoff coming from covered gutters along the base of the roof. I got estimates on various approaches to the problem ~ one of them was to replace all 4 columns with fiberglass columns, and that was a small fortune to do. I am wondering since only one is really bad if I should call the gutter company and see what they might be liable for in this issue. Of course, the problem involves more than that....What to do? |
