I had a feeling in my forty-three years, that my sperm always were little fighters:
(they seem to fight to be 'freed' all the time)
But researchers have studied that not all your sperm is for reproduction, but for reassurance that the little egg seekers do indeed make it to their destination.
Seems that sperm has a 'team' that what's to make sure that the reproduction sperm 'score' (make it to the egg) they in fact are like 'blockers' for the running back.

This study was done more of human behavior studies to see if the male human has had to evolve to insure their race (or in this case that individual genes) are carried on.
Due to the fact the same study shows that:
Females are more likely today to mate with more than one male.
