| So I'm having a serious problem. I need some serious sound advice. September 6th 2010 my father passed away. At the time I was living with him and his girlfriend. After he passed his girlfriend started taking his stuff and locking it in her bedroom to keep it from me. Then she started instigating fights with me trying to kick me out of the house. Well when I left she wouldn't let me take anything of his with me. So following I moved back to Texas and have been in a constant battle trying to get his stuff away from her. According to Nevada law his estate can be liquidated in order to pay for funeral costs. My grandmother payed 2400 dollars for his cremation (she got ripped off yes I know). However my dad's girlfriend is claiming he had given her all of his possessions. We want to have my dad's estate liquidated in order to help my grandmother make up some of what she lost for the funeral expenses. I found out today that because my dads girlfriend is making such an ordeal about this, I am going to have to go to court in order to testify that my dad NEVER gave her any of his possessions. My problem is that I do not know how to cope with this or deal with any of it. Has anyone ever had a similar situation to this?? What did you do or what would you do if you were in this situation?
