My wife has some friends, a couple from church, who have a number of pets. Apparently they came home one day last week to find that the two dogs had killed one of the cats. Their immediate reaction was to not want to have anything to do with the dogs and within 12 hours the dogs were dropped off at an animal shelter.
Now I figure the average dog has the comprehension of a two year old. So suddenly they are torn from their home and placed in a shelter where, if they are lucky, they will only experience the pain of seperation.
I have been running this over and over in my head and am trying to determine, does the punishment fit the crime, or have my wife's friends over reacted. |
