Foxglove
Digitalis purpurea (Scrophulariaceae)
One of the loveliest, most important plant species that has been introduced from Europe and naturalized in various parts of North America. The flowers are numerous, on a spike, and range from a deep purple to lilac with conspicuous spots interlining the throat of the tubular flower.Foxglove is a source of digitalis prescribed by doctors to strengthen the heart and regulate its beat. Extremely poisonous! Many of the common names of this plant pertain to its toxic nature (Witches' glove, Dead Man's Bells, Bloody Fingers). Foxglove belongs to the Figwort family (Scrophulariaceae) and the whole plant is toxic. It contains various cardiac glycosides. Symptoms include dizziness, vomiting, irregular heart beat, and delerium or halucinations.
I figure that to know why, you have too know the plant and now that you know a little more about the plant, you might be able to understand why my friends call me this, it was around 1997 that this nickname was started you see they used to joke around that I was beautiful but deadly, you can view my beauty but don't mess with me it may be the last thing you do,I can very easily harm you, or I can help you. I was accused by this girl of well of slander we came back from spring break and she said that during spring break she had gotten pregnant found out and had a back alley abortion, and being in jr high and one of the most popluar girls everyone looked too me to see what the reaction was and I went no didn't happen so everyone called the girl a lair and she didn't quite get the attention she wanted and this according to her was the reason she tried to kill herself, this girl was known for takeing pictures of me and several other girls and cutting out our faces and pinning them too herself and It scared one of the girls that she was doing this too and it was creepy so that girl and myself went to the assisitant principal and got her expelled which is when she tried to kill herself which is in a large part where they got their she's deadly thing, the another large part has to had been when I stood infront of the toughest senior at school and defied her to lay a hand on me of course before anything could happen I was picked up and carried off by a couple of friends. I also was well known for defending my friends, well the ones that needed it and anyone that ever messed with my friends found themselves in a world of pyschological pain, It was easy back then to mess with their minds, all anyone of them ever wanted was to be popular.
So I was beautiful and I was "deadly" I have never once killed a human being, I once shot a bird it was the most horrible thing listening to that innocent voice cry out in pain that's actually when I knew I wasn't like other people though I could see a time I would kill , hey atleast I'm honest! I forget who started it but I grew accustomed too it and will answer too it or Fox in real life to this day, Fox being short for Foxglove. Oh and that girl who blamed me,did come find me a couple years later,after she had dried up,and she apologized for what all she had said and done. I do tons of volunteer work donate blood that kind of stuff so that's where they got the beneficial part.
So there I am beautiful, deadly when ill dosed, and beneficial when recived right just like the flower
