How it works :
1)Choose your backing track to sing against and I will source it and the lyrics on your behalf.
2)Book a session - A good vocalist will nail a vocal take in 1 or 2 attempts, but this is the exception rather than the rule.
It is common even for seasoned pro's to do a number of takes in order to be satisfied with the resultant vocal track.
Often it will be required to re record some vocal sections in order to get the best version (this is known as a drop in), this will take additional time and depends on ability and level of perfection required.
I will set up a computer with recording software, a mixer, quality microphone on a stand with a pop filter, headphones and a reflection filter to reduce room acoustic.
At this stage you sing against the backing track using headphones and reverb to help you get in the right zone. You will hear both the backing track, your voice and if desired reverb in the headphones with a mix to suit your personal taste.
I will use a talkback mic to communicate with you in your headphones so no need for shouting across the rooms.
If you want to improve on some parts we can overdub/drop in and I will edit the takes together forming a seemless, improved vocal take using the best takes.
Do not be disheartened regarding drop ins, as a professional vocalist will often overdub vocals a number of times until they are satisfied, it is standard studio procedure.
Finally your vocal will be mixed into the track within the software using compression, EQ and studio quality reverb. Then a master CD-R will be burnt using the best CD-R burning equipment that is available

Top Tips
Pre session tips :
Make sure the song is one you love and that it does not
take you out of your vocal range, this will help with
an articulate performance.
Warm up and perform any vocal excercises in the time preceeding the session so your voice is ready for the recording, setup usually takes approx 30mins and may serve as ample warm up time.
Ensure the lyrics of the song to be performed are sufficiently memorized, this will aid in a confident delivery of the vocals.
This one sounds obvious but practice the song as much as possible before the session. Being confident of the rhythmic and tonal quality of the vocal is irreplaceable by other means.
