What the hell is our government trying to do? First of all, what I'm about to say does not apply the anyone under the age of 18. Minors and children should be forced to wear seatbelts and child restraints.
I understand that our "great leaders" in Washington are trying to create a safe living environment, but this is friggin' ridiculous. Who am I going to hurt if I am involved in an accident and am not wearing my seatbelt?? That’s right, ME! Not the other driver, not their passenger, not little Susie walking down the street with her lollipop. ME! I might bash my head against the steering wheel, be ejected from the vehicle at a high rate of speed, or maybe live though it with only a few scratches. But, that is my choice!!!! If I want to jump off a bridge, my choice. Gun to my head, my choice. This applies to the helmet laws for motorcycles as well. If an accident occurs, and there is brain matter splattered up the highway for a mile, I see that as a boost to the economy. I’m creating jobs. Hey, someone has to clean it up! Might as well challenge them a little and make sure your head is unprotected and smashed into little tiny pieces. I know that’s a dark way of thinking, but it true. The government will enforce any law that will make them money. And that is all this is about, feeding our "Poor" ass government who doesn’t know how to manage itself. So it tries to micro-manage its citizens, don’t do this, do that, don’t think this, think that, and so on and so forth.
Anyway, back to the seatbelt issue. Not only is our government willing to force our protection on us, they spend thousands of tax-payer $ to promote the "Click it or Ticket" program. Radio adds, TV commercials, the big signs on the side of the road that tell you how much you will have to pay if they catch you without your seatbelt properly worn. BULLSHIT!! I’m tired of the way our great and glorious "free" country is going. Lets start a petition to stop unneeded laws from being voted for in the first place and the chance to make our own decisons in our life. "Let Freedom Ring!!!"
