I would like to first welcome you to Fubar! This site is my #1 favorite, and I hope you enjoy it too! I *do* have a couple things to help you get some smooth, hassle-free and fulfilling enjoyment, though...
Pretty soon, you will be at a point where you might get stuck. By this, I mean your status bar will read "99.99%" and you won't be able to advance without doing certain things. These three things are in the top ten list of FAQ's I have answered, and are as follows:
1) BEFORE you can surpass lvl 3, you will need to SUCCESSFULLY invite someone. Emphasis on SUCCESSFULLY. This means that you have sent an invite from HERE or the invite box at the top of your homepage, and they have joined. You will NOT advance past lvl 3 or get points until they join and follow step 2...
2) BEFORE you get to lvl 5, make sure you have verified your email. If you have tried this but not received it, look in your junk folder, as it sometimes (often actually) ends up there. It is my understanding that if for any reason you change the email address, you will need to re-verify (I could be wrong, but it won't hurt anyway.) You can also do this by clicking HERE.
3) BEFORE you reach lvl 10, make sure you have a salute posted and submitted. Guidelines for a proper salute are here and here. After you make your salute and upload it to a PUBLIC photo album (it must be public or it will be rejected,) be sure to go back into your album and click on "Submit as Salute".
I must tell you that, while you are not required to do these things, without them you will not be able to advance. Any points you would normally receive will NOT be awarded your account. Points get rather impatient very quickly, and don't stick around. After you have done these two things, your points and fubucks will resume as normal.
