If a citizen from your country is arrested overseas for a major crime e.g drug smuggling, and convicted, should your government try and have them returned to their own country to serve out the sentence at tax payers expense, especially if the sentencing country is known for its barbaric treeatment of prisoners, or leave them to rot where they are?
In other words, does a countries responsibilities to it's citizens extend to criminals? |
