I hear folks putting down military folks quite often and say they aren't noble or hero's because some disagree with us being in certain situations, and many will say they don't join to be hero's, they just join for a job, as if that makes their sacrifices any less noble.
Don't know about you, some do join to defend our country and are specially wanting to risk their life to protect us from the real threats we face and other's do join for a job and education... but no matter the reason, they endure a pretty shitty daily life in comparison to what most of us enjoy, and for very little money, and they normally do their duty without much complaint too. Both them and their family members and loved ones have to make such sacrifices and endure long periods of separation, things most folks can't even really imagine.... and when they are put in situations where they HAVE to step up and face terrible danger, most truly do take the call of duty and perform with true heroism, whether that is what they signed up for or not!
So what say you, do they deserve a great shout out of true appreciation as I feel, regardless of what you think of our war policies, or do you feel they don't deserve out special appreciation because they are just doing their jobs? |
