| I am an only child who almost 56 years old, and my mother, who is 89 now, is ill and needs me with her almost 24/7, even though I have my own place just a few miles away. As a result, I cannot work outside the home, and my attempts to have an online business have so far not gotten off the ground. I have a grown son, but he lives and works in England, and I don't hear from him often, let alone see him. Although my mother is paying my bills and supporting me, I would like a little "play" money, like I did when I was a kid ~ nothing much ~ maybe $10 or $20 a week. She is not wealthy, but not poor. Is this selfish? Should I ask? |
