Most people seem to get kind of a kick out of the Broccoli name. That was the idea. It's a little self humor. If you've ever been a fan of Star Trek the Next Generation, then you probably remember who Lt. Reginald Barclay is. You may also remember that his nickname was Broccoli. Barclay was a character who was very intelligent but at the same time he was socially shy. That's how I am. I'm more introverted than extroverted. I prefer smaller groups of people or one on one where I can talk with someone in depth rather than feel forced to small talk about this or that. You'd never see me in nightclubs, bars, or other crowded places like them because I just don't like being in that atmosphere. I feel kind of uncomfortable being in a situation where I have to talk with a bunch of people I don't know. I found this site and thought perhaps it could be beneficial in the sense that I might meet some other people who have been the same way but have found a way to overcome it. Also, I thought if I could meet some people who were more extroverted than me, but were understanding and supportive, that might be of benefit as well.
Now that the name thing is out of the way, I should tell you that I'm a Christian. I know. I know... I think I saw two other ones on this site somewhere. Can't remember where exactly. You don't have to be to be on my friends list so long as you're a decent person. I'm not on here to look at a bunch of NSFW pics. I really could care less about that. I'll never meet those people anyway, so why bother? I'm on here to talk with and meet nice people.
A person's race doesn't matter to me in the slightest. It doesn't matter to me if someone is white, black, yellow, orange, or polka dot. It's just irrelevant. Perhaps I should say "It ought to be irrelevant." We all know that race comes up from time to time. What I'm saying is it shouldn't. A person is either decent on the inside or not. That's what matters. Speaking of which, if race is an issue for you no matter what color you are personally, then please move along. That's just something I won't tolerate.
I'm only interested in people who are decent, kind, and considerate of others. I have an intense dislike for rude, thoughtless, inconsiderate, and pushy people. Basically, I believe in the Golden Rule. People should treat others the way they would like to be treated. My experience has been that there are lots of people who profess to live by that rule, but very, very few who actually do. I'm tired of expending energy upon people who just don't care about others. So if that's you, then please just move along. Seriously. If, however, you truly consider yourself one of the few who really cares about others, then I would love to hear from you - especially if you're a single lady who might be open to more.
I believe women can do anything men can do and should be paid equally for it. The only exception to what most women can do would be things requiring great strength. I don't think most women would make good infantry soldiers because they haven't got the strength for it. However, many women make great fighter pilots (something I wanted to do).
